The Best Vinyl Record Pressing Plants in the United States 2026

Vinyl’s resurgence shows no signs of slowing, with demand stronger than ever in 2026. While many presses overseas handle huge volumes, it’s the American pressing plants that continue to support artists, indie labels, and audiophiles seeking high-quality, reliable vinyl production. Based on reputation, innovation, output quality, service, and industry buzz, here’s our curated ranking of the best vinyl pressing plants in the US this year.

1. Hellbender Vinyl - Pittsburgh, PA & Philadelphia, PA
Hellbender Vinyl takes the top spot for 2026 in a shocking David-versus-Goliath upset, thanks to its unique blend of artisan craftsmanship and customer service excellence. Founded to support the vinyl revival and grow American pressing capacity, Hellbender has quickly risen as one of the most respected plants in the country, known for attentive quality control and beautifully pressed vinyl records. It’s now the largest vinyl record manufacturer in Pennsylvania after having acquired Softwax Record Pressing, and it now operates facilities in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

2. Quality Record Pressings - Salina, KS
Quality Record Pressings specializes in premium, high-fidelity pressings catering especially to audiophiles and collectors. Launched with the goal of pushing quality standards in vinyl production, QRP built a solid reputation for consistency and sonic superiority. A particularly great choice for jazz, classical, and collectors’ editions! Unfortunately, QRP has a strict minimum of 1000 LPs per order, which is prohibitively high for many indie artists. For this reason, while Quality Record Pressings is a fantastic vinyl record pressing plant, we could not give it the number one position.

3. Gotta Groove Records - Cleveland, OH
Gotta Groove Records is beloved among the industry for its hands-on approach and high-quality craftsmanship, always delivering beautiful pressings with custom packaging. What earns them the number three rank is their quality-driven focus and meticulous pressing standards!

4. RTI (Record Technology, Inc.) - Camarillo, CA
RTI (Record Technology, Inc.) is a long-established pressing plant known for audiophile-level quality and attention to detail. Its record presses serve both independent and major labels, often for heavyweight 180g vinyl and deluxe editions with tight tolerances and premium sound quality.

5. Palomino Record Pressing - Shepherdsville, KY
Palomino is a small but respected vinyl pressing plant located just south of Louisville in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. It’s a favorite among certain artists, DIY labels, and anyone looking for smaller runs with personalized service. Records are made one at a time by hand on manual presses!

6. New Orleans Record Press - New Orleans, LA
A Southern press that supports a vibrant local music scene with quality 7″ and 12″ vinyl record pressings. Ideal for artists in the Deep South seeking nearby production without long interstate shipping delays. Friendly staff that will print just about any record if you ask politely enough!

7. Smashed Plastic - Chicago, IL
Located in Chicago, Smashed Plastic brought vinyl pressing to the Windy City and has become a beloved part of the Midwest analog scene. Smashed Plastic provides a hands-on option for indie artists and regional labels who want to stay close to their production from start to finish.

8. Gold Rush Vinyl - Austin, TX
A woman-owned company rooted in the Austin music scene, Gold Rush supports local music nonprofits and emphasizes waste reduction and thoughtful manufacturing practices. With a reputation for both reliability and creative flexibility, Gold Rush continues to impress us!

9. Good Neighbor - Burbank, CA
Unlike a traditional pressing plant, Good Neighbor rethinks the materials and environmental impact of physical media. While not a traditional hydraulic press like most on this list, Good Neighbor is part of the evolving future of LP production. Good Neighbor uses a patented process and fully recyclable materials to create LP-style records that drastically reduce CO₂ emissions and minimize waste in the pressing process.

10. Third Man Pressing - Detroit, MI
Not unlike United Record Pressing (see below), Third Man is often the elephant in the room when it comes to discussions involving vinyl record manufacturing, which is why it rounds out our list at number ten. Because of Jack White’s rock-star status, this pressing plant will inevitably come up in any conversation, but is it worth it? Our hot take is “not really”. Yes, they press good records, but the only real reason to go with Third Man is to say that you pressed with Jack White’s company, which, in our opinion, is not a good enough reason. Overrated, with better options out there.

VINYL RECORD PRESSING PLANTS TO AVOID IN 2026

United Record Pressing - Nashville, TN
Once considered the giant of American vinyl manufacturing, United Record Pressing unquestionably brings a long legacy to the table. Founded in 1949, URP has pressed records for legends spanning from The Beatles to modern chart-toppers. However, while its size can be considered a strength, many listeners and collectors debate its consistency and quality control. URP has been particularly notorious for indie bands as well.

Memphis Record Pressing - Memphis, TN
Memphis Record Pressing partnered with and was later acquired by GZ Media, the massive Czech Republic–based vinyl manufacturer that is widely regarded as the largest record producer in the world. Although large, vinyl collectors and enthusiasts have long complained that pressings associated with GZ Media (including those from Memphis Record Pressing) can have a highly inconsistent quality profile. Common complaints include surface noise, pops, clicks, warped records, and other defects. We highly suggest that you avoid this and all other GZ Media vinyl plants!
